I-Stem: the Institute for Stem cell Therapy and Exploration of Monogenic diseases
I-Stem is a research institute recently founded jointly by INSERM -the French national institute of health- and AFM -the muscular dystrophy association- to explore the potentials of stem cells as a biological resource to better understand and treat monogenic diseases. I-Stem is located in Evry, near Paris, at the heart of the Genopole campus, the largest biotech site in France. The Institute will comprise close to 70 members in ten teams in 2007, and is programmed to double its size over the coming four years.
